The Internet Safety Campaign encompasses a range of activities to build on and amplify existing efforts. This campaign aims to create continuing awareness and education leading from one event to the next to ultimately reach and benefit all our citizens. Some of the tangible outcomes include the development of new online resources and the distribution of informational material to schools, businesses and broader society.

The original idea was conceptualised by the administrators of the local resource website Cybercrime.org.za. We then set out to expand the concept into a full-scale awareness campaign with an ‘inside-out’ approach that will provide a new and deeper perspective on combatting cybercrime. The initiative is set to ultimately gain the support of everyone working and studying in an ICT-related field, and therefore sets out this critical challenge as its theme: “working together to ensure a safe online environment for all”.
